Policies and Procedures

This is the official website for UC Merced’s administrative policies. Its purpose is to make the campus’s policies and procedures widely accessible and to increase individual and departmental compliance. Administrative policies may be issued by the Board of Regents, the Office of the President or the campus.

Delegations of Authority

The University of California, Merced, is committed to promoting an efficient and effective campus accountability structure to successfully carry out its mission of research, teaching and public service.

The University of California is governed by a Board of Regents and the regents’ Standing Orders; certain authorities are conferred upon the president by the board. The President transfers certain responsibilities to other senior officers -- including campuses’ chancellors -- by formally delegating authority in a published form. Some delegations to the chancellors may be re-delegated to campus leadership and others to efficiently carryout the University’s mission. This site includes the current list of transferred responsibilities through presidential delegations to our chancellor and re-delegations to campus leadership and others.
